Stolen property including trailers and "copious amounts of stolen copper wire" were seized by Bonnyville RCMP during a search warrant that was executed on April 25, near Fort Kent.

Two people have been charged following what police describe as "have motivated crimes" that took place in Bonnyville. A victim's vehicle was burnt during the incident.

On Wednesday morning, the Municipal District of Bonnyville cancelled a state of local emergency and localized evacuation alert that had been in place due to a wildfire burning in Cold Lake First Nations.

A state of local emergency remains in effect in the MD of Bonnyille, although a localize evacuation order has been downgraded to an evacuation alert.

Residents who need to be evacuated have been notified
