MD of Bonnyville declares State of Emergency

Residents who need to be evacuated have been notified

The Municipal District of Bonnyville has cancelled the State of Local Emergency and localized Evacuation Alert as of 9:40 a.m. on April 24. Currently, there is no danger to the public, according to the MD of Bonnyville.

BONNYVILLE - The Municipal District of Bonnyville has declared a State of Local Emergency as of 12:52 p.m. due to wildfire. A localized evacuation order has also been issued. Residents who need to be evacuated have been notified.

The fire that began on Cold Lake First Nations yesterday afternoon, April 22, is now moving west into the M.D. of Bonnyville. The fire (LIR001) is currently located between Range Roads 432 and 433, south of Highway 28.
