An Okotoks man is facing numerous charges after fleeing police earlier this month during a stolen vehicle investigation.
On April 7, RCMP attended a property in Vulcan County while investigating a vehicle theft. When officers arrived, a male fled from police in a stolen pickup truck, according to a statement from police.
He was arrested a short time later and one officer received minor injuries during the arrest, RCMP said.
A search warrant carried out at the property resulted in officers recovering 12 pickup trucks, three trailers and two dirt bikes, all of which were stolen.
Evidence gathered leads police to believe the property was being used as a chop shop, RCMP said.
William McIntosh, 30, from Okotoks is facing numerous charges, including assault on a police officer causing bodily harm, resisting arrest, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and drug offences for possession of fentanyl and crystal meth.
McIntosh was remanded into custody and will be appearing in Alberta Court of Justice in Lethbridge on April 26
RCMP said the stolen items were taken from Calgary and surrounding areas, and that all registered owners have been notified.
