ST. PAUL – The St. Paul Youth Council (SPYC), in partnership with St. Paul Municipal Library, joined with other libraries across the nation to celebrate Free Comic Book Day on May 4.

There were six different types of comics available for youths in Grades 7 to 12, according to Faithe Hunter, youth coordinator with St. Paul Regional Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) – the entity that houses the SPYC.

Hunter says there were about 25 comic books given out during the day. Youth who came out were also given a movie discount for the St. Paul Elite Theatre.

Spring Clothing Exchange

Hunter also wanted to remind the public about an upcoming event aimed at supporting those in need in the community.

From May 14 to 16, the FCSS and the Lakeland Family Resource Network (LFRN) will be hosting its Spring Clothing Exchange at the St. Paul Recreation Centre.

Donation drop off is from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on May 14. Donations should be in good, clean condition.

The clothing exchange will then run from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on May 15, and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on May 16.
