Two arrested following cocaine trafficking investigation

Bonnyville GIS conducted a drug trafficking investigation with the help of Edmonton ALERT and Cold Lake GIS, resulting in the arrest of two suspects.


Police were investigating two suspects believed to be trafficking cocaine in the Town of Bonnyville.


On May 9, RCMP executed a search warrant of a local residence, and arrested 30-year-old Kristi Fauth, and 37-year-old Nicholas Stovell.


Police searched their residence for evidence in relation to the drug trafficking offences.


Fauth was released from custody on a recognizance with conditions for charges related to drug trafficking, and also has been charged under the Drug Endangered Child Act.


Stovell was charged with possession of a scheduled substance, among other charges relating to failing to comply with conditions, which are related to multiple previous drug trafficking charges.


He will remain in custody until his first court appearance in the Bonnyville Provincial Courthouse on May 15.


Male charged for possessing a weapon and meth


A homeowner called local RCMP on May 12 asking for assistance with removing two intoxicated males from their 44 Ave. residence.


RCMP attended and located the men, one of which was carrying a concealed weapon.


According to Sgt. Sarah Parke, the male was detained as a result and searched. Officers found methamphetamine on his person, and have charged the male with carrying a concealed weapon and possession of an illegal substance.


RCMP investigating erratic driver


Over the weekend, a concerned resident called Bonnyville RCMP about a vehicle driving erratically, reaching speeds of at least 180-kilometres per hour.


The vehicle was involved in a collision, and the driver fled on foot.


When officers attended, they phoned a tow truck before leaving the scene.


Before the vehicle was towed, the driver returned to the vehicle and drove off.


Police believe a 27-year-old Meadow Lake, SK male is involved and are investigating.


Muriel Lake Beach cabin broken into


The owners of a cabin along Muriel Lake Beach called RCMP after their property was broken into over the winter months.


Heaters were stolen from the cabin.


RCMP are asking anyone with information call the local RCMP at 780-343-7200.
