It will be another 79 days behind bars for one Kehewin resident.

Lowell Badger was intoxicated when he kicked in the door of his sister’s house.

On April 11, Badger was arrested by RCMP after they received a complaint from Badger’s sister claiming he had kicked in the front door of her Kehewin residence and started screaming and yelling.

When officers attended, they found him upstairs asleep.

During his court appearance on Tuesday, April 17, in the Bonnyville Provincial Courthouse, Badger pled guilty via CCTV from the Edmonton Remand Centre, where he would remain for a further 79 days.

Badger was convicted of breaking and entering, committing mischief, and was sentenced to 90 days in custody.

Because he had been in prison since his arrest on April 11, Badger had 79 days left to serve as of his sentencing.

Once he is released, he will face a 12-month probation order requiring him to avoid alcohol and illegal drugs, have no contact with his sister, or attend her residence.

The 52-year-old has over 46 convictions in his lifetime, and has been before the courts at least once every year since 1983.

He was required to provide a sample of his DNA for the Canadian National Databank.
