There’s a lot to be thankful for. You could be grateful you have a roof over your head, food on the table, or family and friends. But even if you don’t have all of those things, you can be thankful for something.

There’s a lot to be thankful for.


You could be grateful you have a roof over your head, food on the table, or family and friends. But even if you don’t have all of those things, you can be thankful for something.


In our community, we have an endless list of resources, and every year it seems as though they’re growing more and more, meaning people are seeking the help that they need.


This is something everyone, regardless of your circumstances, can add to their list of things they’re grateful for.


Whether it’s the Dragonfly Counselling and Support Centre, the Dr. Margaret Savage Crisis Centre, Addictions Counselling, NAR-ANON, or one of the other local resources you’re thinking of, take a moment to be thankful these options are in your community, and those who need them aren’t forced to drive to other areas to access what they need.


Maybe you have a friend, loved one, or even yourself have utilized these organizations, whatever it is, take a moment to be grateful for what the Lakeland has, not what it doesn’t.


Sure, Bonnyville’s pool isn’t sparkly and new, but the town has one.


Not to mention two full-sized indoor hockey rinks, a skating pond, and soon to come outdoor rink.


That’s a lot more than some communities can ask for.


The hospital parking could be better, but at least we have somewhere to go when we’re in dire straits.


Although Thanksgiving has come and gone, it’s still important to be thankful for what’s around you.
