For over a year, Canadians have been watching the clock tick down to the legalization of recreational cannabis, and whether we’re ready for it or not, it’s here.
In case you haven’t heard, read, or seen the news, as of Wednesday, and yes I mean this Wednesday, cannabis will be legal.
But the question that still remains, is are we ready for it?

Municipalities across the country have been scrambling trying to pull together some form of regulations, even though they have made it quite clear that they need more time.
A prime example is our very own MD of Bonnyville (see the story on Page 1) who have yet to bring the topic to their council chambers.
Are we ready to enforce it? Are we ready to see people smoking marijuana where they smoke cigarettes, in some cases?
Honestly, I don’t know.
I’ve been watching this day creep up on Canada with my fingers crossed that we could pull it off, because we kinda of have no choice.
But like so many councils have said, I don’t think we will know exactly what we’ve gotten ourselves into until we’re in it. So for now, I guess I will just sit back, and watch it unfold, whether we want it to or not.
