Local RCMP have solved a break and enter on a MD of Bonnyville property, resulting in multiple arrests.

On June 17 and 19, members of the Bonnyville and St. Paul RCMP detachments, with the assistance of the Eastern Alberta District Rural Crime Reduction Unit, conducted an investigation following a break and enter and theft from a rural property north of Therien.

Four individuals have been arrested as a result.

On June 17, an MD residence was broken into and a significant amount of property was stolen, including a high-end sports car.

The following day, the vehicles used in the break and enter were spotted by RCMP at a St. Paul residence.

Two males were arrested at the scene and further investigation revealed the stolen sports car's location, in Foisy, AB.

On June 19, a search warrant was executed on the St. Paul residence, which led to the recovery of drugs and weapons.

A woman wanted on outstanding warrants was located and arrested, and the investigation continued, resulting in the arrest of a third male in Bonnyville.

Another property was searched in Goodridge, resulting in the recovery of a stolen quad from St. Paul. Police arrested a second female wanted on outstanding warrants.

Chad Cardinal, 34-years-old of Saddle Lake, was arrested and charged with breaking and entering, theft of a motor vehicle over $5,000, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, failing to comply with conditions, and possession of a controlled substance.

St. Paul County resident James Carlen, 63, was arrested and charged with break and entering, and theft of a motor vehicle over $5,000.

Both males were held in custody and appeared in the St. Paul Courthouse on June 21. Cardinal will appear again on June 28, while Carlen is scheduled to appear on July 3.

A 47-year-old St. Paul male, and 33-year-old Fort Saskatchewan female, are also facing charges. They will appear in court Aug. 21.
