Farmer assaulted in road rage incident

Local RCMP were called on Oct. 20 at around 6:20 p.m., to the junction of Hwy. 28 and 41 after a 60-year-old man was assaulted. The man was part of a farm convoy heading down the highway.

Local RCMP were called on Oct. 20 at around 6:20 p.m., to the junction of Hwy. 28 and 41 after a 60-year-old man was assaulted.


The man was part of a farm convoy heading down the highway. He was driving a truck when a dark Dodge Ram pulled in front of the convoy and stopped.


The driver, who has been described as an about six foot tall, 220-pound Caucasian man with blonde hair and a beard, got out of the truck and approached the vehicle the victim was driving.


The man pulled the victim out of his vehicle and assaulted him before driving away.


RCMP have identified and spoken to the suspect.


Local woman accused of assault


A 55-year-old Bonnyville woman is facing assault and uttering threats charges after an incident on Oct. 20.


It was after midnight when police were called to 52 St. regarding a fight between a man and a woman.


Keep your cannabis out of reach when behind the wheel


RCMP are reminding residents to keep cannabis out of reach of any occupant after Vermilion Traffic Services ticketed a 25-year-old Frog Lake man with the Gaming, Liquor, and Cannabis Act offence.


It was after midnight on Oct. 20 when the traffic unit pulled over the man on 55 St.


S/Sgt. Sarah Parke said the fine of $115 is a reminder to all drivers you can’t have access to liquor or cannabis while driving.


Police interrupt man’s nap


A 42-year-old Kehewin male woke up to  surprise on Oct. 16.


A complaint came about a male passed out by Jessie Lake.


When police woke up the man he tried to wrestle with the officer.


The suspect is facing charges including mischief, theft under $5,000, resisting a police officer, and three counts of failing to comply.


Seasonal residence has


long-term guest


A residence owner in the Muriel Lake area came across a surprise visitor living in their seasonal home.


On Oct. 15, police were called about a suspect who had broken into the camper and appeared to be living there for some time.


The person had fled before police arrived, however, they do have leads.


You can’t hide


A 51-year-old Kehewin man has been charged with resisting arrest and assaulting a peace officer after an incident on Oct. 14.


Police were responding to unrelated matters at about 4 a.m. when they came across the accused. He fled from officers, but was located by Police Dog Services hiding in a bush.


Sonny’s Liquor Store robbery under investigation


RCMP are continuing to investigate the robbery at Sonny’s Liquor Store.
