RCMP continue investigation into two robberies

The Bonnyville RCMP are continuing to investigate two local robberies. On April 9, at about 11:40 p.m., a man armed with bear mace entered the Liquor Mart in Bonnyville. He sprayed the clerk in the face, and stole cash and liquor from the store.

The suspect is described as being approximately 6’ tall, average build, wearing a black hoodie covering his face, a grey shirt, black shoes, wearing a grey backpack, and blue jeans. The sweater had a white stripe down the sleeve.


Two days prior, on April 7, just after 11 p.m., a masked man entered the Liquor Depot armed with a knife.


He told the clerk to hand over all of the bills from one of the registers before departing on a bicycle.

Unwanted guest at Sportsman Trailer Park


On April 11, at around 8 p.m., RCMP were called to the Sportsman Trailer Park to remove an unwanted guest.


The 41-year-old woman was arrested before she became beligerent and assaultive towards two officers.


She was charged with two counts of assaulting a peace officer, one count of breaching her recognizance, and four counts of breaching her probation.


Reminding residents the consequences of driving without insurance


Two locals have been charged with driving without insurance, and RCMP are reminding residents of the consequences.


Sgt. Sarah Parke of the local detachment, said the fine starts at $3,000, but for repeat offenders, or those with extreme circumstances, it could be much more.


Swinging a chair in local establishment ends with charges


RCMP were called to a local bar where a patron was found swinging a chair at another person, after a verbal dispute went south.


The man was charged with assault with a weapon.


Domestic spats result in a call to local RCMP


On April 15, just after midnight, Bonnyville RCMP were called to the parking lot of a local liquor store to deal with a domestic dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend.


A 28-year-old Goodfish male has been charged with assault.


Earlier that day, at about 7 p.m., RCMP were dispatched to a Bonnyville residence where a 65-year-old man was charged with assault.
