RCMP arrest three after citizen reports suspicious vehicle

Three people have been arrested and charged with several counts after police received a tip from a citizen about a suspicious vehicle.

At about 1:45 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 13, Bonnyville RCMP received a report of a suspicious vehicle with flat tires on a rural property.

The Eastern Alberta District RCMP Crime Reduction Team was in the area and located the vehicle abandoned on an a property off of Hwy. 28 and Range Rd. 482. Further investigation revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen.

Responding officers patrolled the area and observed to male suspects attempting to flee on foot through the field.

Both males were taken into custody without incident.

RCMP Police Dog Services attended the scene and determined a third suspect was involved. The male was apprehended by Police Dog Services and taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Three men have been arrested and charged in relation to the incident.

Dustin Davidson Hardy, 24, of Kikino, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, resist/obstruct a peace officer, break and enter, possession of break-in instruments, and two counts of failing to comply with a recognizance.

Hardy was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in the St. Paul Provincial Courthouse this morning (Aug. 16).

Also charged was 25-year-old Demien Lee Rosenkranz of Fort Saskatchewan. He has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, driving while disqualified, three counts of failing to comply with a probation order, possession of break-in instruments, break and enter, resist/obstruct peace officer, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Rosenkranz was remanded into custody and will also appear in court on Aug. 16.

Christopher James Erasmus was charged with possession of property obtained  by crime over $5,000, resist/obstruct a peace officer, break and enter, and possession of break-in instruments.

The 32-year-old Lac La Biche male was released from custody and will appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on Tuesday, Sept. 4.
