Not a "baa'd" idea

Whenever you can help the environment by avoiding the use of chemicals, you should at least give it a try, and that’s what it looks like the MD of Bonnyville is doing, through their goat program. It’s a unique solution to a common problem.

It’s a unique solution to a common problem.

In fact, municipalities across the province face noxious weeds in one way or another, and the MD is taking a fun and out of the box approach.

Goats are being used in areas across Alberta as the up-and-coming weed control method, and why not?

It’s a win-win-win.

Municipalities are avoiding the use of chemicals, which can often get into streams and lakes, the weeds are being kept under control, and even the goats are benefitting from an all-they-can-eat buffet.

Although it seems like the perfect solution, no one can really tell if the program is going to run as smoothly as it sounds, at least not until the MD has tested it out first-hand.

Turning it into a family affair, by inviting residents to an event the day of, is taking the program and putting a community spin on it.

Let’s just see if this idea is all it’s made out to be, it really can’t hurt to try.
