Just after midnight on Tuesday, Dec. 18, a local RCMP officer attended a residence on 43 Ave. to issue a verbal warning about a noise complaint.

“The resident didn’t listen and immediately turned up the volume of their music shortly after the officer left, causing police to be called a second time,” explained S/Sgt. Sarah Parke.

During the officer’s second visit, they issued the resident a ticket and an argument ensued.

After producing a firearm while RCMP were still in the area, the 28-year-old was arrested and taken into custody.

Bonnyville RCMP assist in arrest of three individuals

A joint effort between the Bonnyville RCMP, the Cold Lake Police Dog Service (PDS) unit, and members from St. Paul RCMP resulted in the arrest of three individuals.

The St. Paul RCMP received a report of suspicious activity in the area of Range Rd. 85 and Twp. Rd. 590 on Tuesday, Dec. 11.

A member of the Eastern Alberta Rural Crime Reduction Unit (EARCRU), who was conducting a patrol in the area, attended the location, and found a male and two females walking away from a white GMC pick-up truck that had been abandoned on the side of the road.

Record checks indicated the vehicle had been stolen out of Mannville approximately one week earlier. The three suspects were arrested with the assistance of members from the St. Paul RCMP.

Further investigation determined there were two individuals still believed to be at large. They were later arrested without further incident with the assistance of the PDS unit and members from the Bonnyville RCMP detachment.

Saddle Lake resident Matthew Moses, 29, was charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, obstruction, three counts of failing to comply with conditions of an undertaking, and theft under $5,000.

Cardinal appeared in Bonnyville Provincial Court on Tuesday, Dec. 18 via CCTV, and adjourned his matters to Jan. 15.

Twenty-two-year-old Saddle Lake resident Justin Jackson was charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, two counts of failing to comply with his recognizance, and mischief.

A 28-year-old Saddle Lake female was charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000. Her charges have not yet been sworn by a judge so her identity can’t be released at this time.

A 16-year-old youth, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Act, was charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, obstruction, identity fraud, possession of a controlled substance, and failing to comply with recognizance conditions.

The youth was held for a bail hearing and released to her parent.
