Male injures multiple in assault

A 24-year-old male was arrested and charged after police were called to a Kehewin residence about a person injuring others. It was around 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 26, when RCMP responded to the call of a Kehewin male assaulting others inside of a residence.

A 24-year-old male was arrested and charged after police were called to a Kehewin residence about a person injuring others.

It was around 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 26, when RCMP responded to the call  of a Kehewin male assaulting others inside of a residence.

When police arrived at the scene, the male had already departed, but was located nearby, S/Sgt. Sarah Parke said.

As a result of their investigation, the male has been charged with assault causing bodily harm, assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon, mischief, and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

Impaired driver refuses to provide a sample

Police received a tip from the public about a possible impaired driver on Oct. 26.

It was just before 8 p.m. when RCMP were notified that a witness had seen a driver swerving all over the road.

Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, requesting a mandatory roadside screening from the driver.

The 42-year-old Manor, SK male refused to provide a sample and was charged.

Impaired by more than alcohol

At 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 26, RCMP were asked to respond to a local apartment complex on 37 St.

According to Parke, a man was kicking a door to one of the suites.

Police located the 44-year-old who was intoxicated by drugs and alcohol.

He was arrested and charged with mischief, and was lodged in cells until sober.

Driving over the limit

A 25-year-old Westlock driver was caught impaired behind the wheel on Oct. 26.

RCMP received a complaint from the public at 9 p.m. about an impaired driver near McDonald’s.

The male provided samples over the legal limit and has been charged with impaired operation, and over .08.

Talking to police while possessing meth

Bonnyville RCMP had stopped to talk to an individual known to police about an unrelated incident when they determined the person was in possession of an illegal substance.

According to Parke, the suspect was arrested and charged with possession of meth.

Arguing in the streets

A disagreement along Lakeshore Dr. landed one man in custody.

On Nov. 4, just before 3 a.m., RCMP received a complaint about two people arguing on Lakeshore Dr.

Officers found one of the suspects driving along the road and a traffic stop was conducted.

The driver was wanted on warrants and the officer believed there was evidence he had recently smoked methamphetamine.

Parke said the male was detained while police conducted an impaired investigation, which revealed he was under the influence of methamphetamine at the time.

He was charged with impaired operation by drug of a motor vehicle and driving while prohibited.
