Residents in the Village of Glendon have selected the three councillors that will represent them for the next four years.

During their municipal election on Monday, Oct. 16, voters cast their ballots for who they would like to see take the three seats on council.

Spurred by his business-focused campaign, Scott Lundgren lead the way in the Village of Glendon municipal election with 98 votes. He will be the newest face to council, while incumbents Laura Papirny, who finished with 95 votes, and Nancy Pelletier, who closed the day with 64, claimed the final two seats.

With the election over, councillors will get to work addressing the issues they heard from constituents throughout their campaign.

"I look forward to addressing the needs of our business community, while still moving forward with infrastructure and community projects," said Papirny.

Business in Glendon was a focus for councillors leading up to election day. Pelletier and Lundgren own businesses in the village, and focused their campaigns on innovative ways to help draw new business and tourism to the area.

As a solution to the needs of village businesses, Papirny wanted to focus on developing and maintaining infrastructure in Glendon.

"Our collective experience is going to be strength. Scott is a businessman, that's going to provide a fresh perspective for the business community and I think he has some really good ideas," Papirny noted.

Despite the election coming to a close, there's still one more vote that needs to be take place. Once the new council has been sworn in, they will elect a mayor to lead the group for the upcoming term.

"I want to thank everyone for voting and for their support. We're going to try our best to move forward in the future," expressed Papirny.
