An ounce of methamphetamine, a rifle, a machete, and cocaine were seized by RCMP following the arrest of a Kehewin man and Saddle Lake woman.

On May 6, Bonnyville RCMP were following up with an investigation from the previous night when they came across a stolen quad.

Randall Louis Gadwa drove up to the residence even though his license was suspended.

The 36-year-old male was arrested as a result. During a search police found one ounce of methamphetamine, a machete, a rifle, and some cocaine.

“He was arrested for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited, possession of cocaine, and resisting or obstructing a peace officer,” outlined Bonnyville RCMP Sgt. Kim Hillier.

The 19-year-old Saddle Lake female with Gadwa, Brittany Omeasoo, was also arrested.

She was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of cocaine, and three counts of failing to comply with the conditions of an undertaking.

Youth ticketed for trespassing

Four youth have been ticketed for trespassing on a property outside of town after the landowner caught them in the act.

On May 7, at around 8 p.m., RCMP were called by the landowner about multiple people breaking into her vacant property. She took down the license plate information of the suspects and called police.

Hillier stressed that regardless of whether there is someone residing in a residence or on a property, "criminally, you can be charged with break and enter if you go onto someone’s property and commit an offence there."

Investigation results in impaired and drug charges

Police entered into an investigation on May 9 at 3:40 a.m. about a truck that had fled previously, and discovered 34-year-old Lionel Shane Badger had been driving the vehicle at the time.

Badger had been wanted on warrants and was arrested for impaired operation.

“He was also found to have in his possession some methamphetamine and was prohibited from driving at the time,” noted HIllier.

Badger has been charged with possession of meth, driving while prohibited, impaired operation, and driving over .08.

A little off-roading ends in arrest

An officer was patrolling in Kehewin on Hwy. 657 when they noticed a truck driving in the ditch.

"The constable recognized the male driving as 20-year-old Jaden Badger,” described Hillier.

The officer pulled over the truck and noted Badger was showing signs of impairment.

The Kehewin male was arrested and charged with impaired operation, and driving over .08.
