Bonnyville RCMP kept busy with pursuit

The Bonnyville RCMP have been busy with pursuits over the past week. Most recently, on Friday, Nov. 30, they were called around 9:10 a.m. regarding a stolen vehicle in a farmer’s field near La Corey.

The Bonnyville RCMP have been busy with pursuits over the past week.


Most recently, on Friday, Nov. 30, they were called around 9:10 a.m. regarding a stolen vehicle in a farmer’s field near La Corey.


They located the vehicle, and arrested two female suspects without incident, said Cst. Walter Sidorenko.


Two male suspects fled and were later apprehended with the assistance of the Cold Lake Police Dog Services, and a civilian helicopter.


Dusty Hardy of Lac La Biche, and a 17-year-old male youth, who can't be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, were arrested and are facing charges as a result.


Truck stolen from Tim Hortons


A truck was stolen from the Bonnyville  west-end Tim Hortons on Nov. 28 at 5:24 a.m.


The 2017 gold F-350 with a slip tank and toolbox in the back was taken.


“That’s still outstanding, so if anyone sees it, give us a call,” Sidorenko said.


The truck has an Alberta license plate BYB-7189.

RCMP involved in pursuit

It was about 9 p.m. on Nov. 28, when Bonnyville officers were actively patrolling an area when they spotted a vehicle that was involved in a hit and run with a Cold Lake police car.

RCMP attempted to pull the vehicle over when it fled at a high rate of speed. Officers requested the assistance of  Cold Lake members and the Police Dog Services.

Four individuals were apprehended as a result of the pursuit, after a tire deflation device was used to stop the vehicle.

Three of the suspects were arrested on scene while a fourth fled on foot. They were  apprehended by the dog unit.

Cody Raymond White, a 31-year-old male, was charged with possession of stolen property obtained by crime over $5,000, operation of a motor vehicle while being pursued by police, resisting/obstructing a peace officer, driving while disqualified/prohibited, and failing to comply with a probation order.

A 31-year-old female, Jillian Maria Dumontier, was charged with possession of stolen property obtained by crime over $5,000, failing to comply with an undertaking, and failing to comply with a recognizance,

Darcy Lee Klassen, 35, was charged with possession of stolen property obtained by crime over $5,000, along with Cassie Rebecca Fleming, a 28-year-old female.

White was remanded into custody and will appear in court on Dec. 12 for his Cold Lake charges, and Dec. 18 for his Bonnyville offences.

Police arrest Bubar

On Nov. 19, an off-duty RCMP officer observed a suspicious red Ford F-250 pickup, which parked in a driveway on Hwy. 28 near Glendon.

The vehicle matched the description of a truck that had been recently reported stolen out of Edmonton.

Members of the Bonnyville RCMP and the Eastern Alberta Rural Crime Reduction Unit attended.

A lone female suspect was located inside of the vehicle and was arrested without incident. Two additional suspects were lated apprehended following an investigation.

A 32-year-old Bonnyville man was arrested and charged in relation to the incident.

Christian Lee Bubar, is facing charges of two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of meth, obstruction of justice, and possession of break-in instruments.

At the time of his arrest, Bubar had been wanted on outstanding warrants out of both the Bonnyville and Cold Lake RCMP detachments.

He was released by a justice of the peace on a $3,500 no-cash recognizance with conditions.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 18.

Two additional female suspects were arrested and have also been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

They were released on a promise to appear, and cannot be named at this time until charges against them are sworn.
