Operating continually since 1967, Canada's Centennial year, The Bonnyville Nouvelle is the number one source for community news, sports and information for the region. The Nouvelle has grown to become an award winning publication that serves a number of communities in the northeast area of Alberta. Published every Tuesday, we are delivered weekly to Bonnyville, Fort Kent, Ardmore, Cold Lake, La Corey, Iron River and Glendon in an area that covers more than 7,100 square kilometers with a combined population of nearly 30,000 people.
The town of Bonnyville was founded on agriculture in 1907 and has grown from small homesteads of a few acres to productive farms averaging 960 acres. There is also a significant amount of heavy oil and natural gas production and construction in the area with several multi-million dollar processing plants within the municipal district.
